Our client is an exciting start-up providing innovative solutions within the artisanal & small-scale mining industry, looking to empower miners and provide them access to the global market. Their vision is to ethically improve the Diamond trading market by providing digital solutions.
This opportunity represents the chance to join the team within their Strategy & Innovation department and work to develop their solution past the pilot stage, allowing for new geographical areas & customers to be targeted and their product outreach to grow.
We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who will join a small team of engineers in developing their pilot product for a short term contract of up to 3 months.
Some key responsibilities would include:
• Implementing scalable and maintainable backend services.
• Building solid APIs to support frontend.
• Collaborating with a team of engineers, designers and key individuals to deliver empowering user experiences.
Some Key requirements for this position are:
• Experience in Python development (API experience a bonus)
• Experience in setting the technical direction of a product
• Experience using PostgreSQL and optimising performance.
• Cloud experience: AWS (or similar).
• Experience with automated testing and CI processes
• Experience with devops and automated deployments.
